| Full Description |
House Mountain R/C has room to fly! Any size RC airplane can be flown at our field. Full Scale to Micro Park Flyer. It is normal to see a great mix of 3D, Pattern, Gliders, Warbirds, Jets and Helicopters flying on the weekend. An occasional full size aircraft will visit for the day. HMRC has an active soaring group with one-two F5J Tour contests per year, and regular glider flying on Friday and Sunday afternoons, weather permitting. Fields are available for DLG, high-start, and winch flying but most members regularly fly F5J-F5K because of the convenience. Glider flying is mixed on most days with power traffic on the main runway. |

Thompson Airpark is located northeast of Knoxville, TN, off Washington Pike just past Roberts Rd. Take the East Town Mall (Washington Pike) exit 8 of Interstate 640. Stay on Washington Pike for ~8 miles. Go past the intersection with Roberts Road (House Mountain Convenience Mart on the right).
